Our Lord is risen! Hallelujah!

This year has not been a normal year. For the first time in many years it was not possible to live Lent and celebrate Easter inside the temples. Like the disciples of Jesus who went sailing when they could not see Him (Jn 21), The christian communities could not see him in the temples, but they have gone to sail, and navigate far away, on a different "sea": the Internet. The Jesuits and the Ignatian family all over Europe created online possibilities to help everyone spend this special time closer to God.

Today we show you examples of those initiatives:

  • In Hungary, Jesuits celebrated online masses, offered spiritual exercises, individual accompaniment and made a lot of digital materials available on their website.

  • In Germany, Families joined Jesuits in Zoom and celebrated Sunday Masses together. This allowed the participants to sing along and pray in the same voice.

  • Croatian Jesuits offered daily live guided examens and Eucharists. Besides, a special spiritual individual service was provided to healthcare staff.

The Church of God is not only church in a  building. It is where we are, it is everywhere. Though physically separated, the Jesuit apostolic body was probably closer than ever in the proclamation of His resurrection. Hallelujah!
