“We are all involved in a demanding and challenging journey in the desert, which engages us, above all, to be together, to be united in a different way, just when distances are, rather, placed between us.

Perhaps, as never before, we experience ourselves as part of wider realities than our­selves, such as the Society, the Church and all humanity. And we get more in touch with our fragility, a great fragility that makes us close to those who, every day, are exposed, vulner­able.

In all this, there is a spiritual, paschal, profound dimension that we already know, but that we rediscover: we are one, same Body and just how we are affected together, so we can live only together, helping each other, supporting each other, acting responsibly, inviting others to act in this way.

I know how much we are praying for one another and for others; I know how much, at this time of suddenly limited apostolic activity, our Eucharistic celebrations, forcibly pri­vate, have become even more, now, an offering for our whole humanity”.
