The Network of Safeguarding Delegates in Europe is a committed group of Jesuits and lay professionals from across the European Provinces of the Society of Jesus, dedicated to the protection of minors and vulnerable adults. Meeting regularly both online and in person, this network aims to foster a culture of safeguarding across Jesuit institutions in Europe, ensuring that all who come to them find safe and supportive environments.
In October 2023, the Network held its first in-person meeting in Paris after nearly two years of online collaboration. The delegates work in diverse social, cultural, and legal contexts but share a common mission: to create a "new culture of safeguarding" within the Society of Jesus.
The Society of Jesus in Europe is firmly committed to this essential work, and the Network of Safeguarding Delegates continues to play a vital role in building trust and safety in Jesuit communities. This collaboration, supported by regular meetings and the sharing of best practices, ensures that safeguarding remains at the heart of Jesuit ministry.
