Jesuit Conference of European Provincials

The Jesuit Conference of European Provincials (JCEP) unites the Provinces that govern the Jesuit presence in Europe, the Near East, Northern Africa and Central Asia. It strives to foster greater collaboration between them and to promote united responses to shared challenges, at the service of the apostolic mission of the Society of Jesus.

The offices of JCEP are in Brussels, the political centre of the European Union. In this privileged location it advocates for relevant causes at the European Institutions, through JESC (Jesuit European Social Centre) and JRS-Europe. Also in Brussels, the JCEP is entrusted with the care for the teaching of religion in the European Schools and the pastoral coordination of the Chapel for Europe.

Under direct responsibility of the Conference are two European Tertianships, in Ireland and in Lebanon, and the Jesuit presence in Turkey.

The Conference supports and coordinates around 20 Jesuit networks and projects in diverse areas of mission, including spirituality, justice, education and youth ministry, intellectual apostolate and Ignatian and Jesuit formation.
