The Ecojesuit team of the EOF Jesuit Province seeks to promote a conversion in our personal and institutional lifestyles in the spirit of the encyclical Laudato si'. To this end, it proposes a number of concrete ways of living in this spirit on a daily basis.

Since 2015, a team of Jesuits and lay people from French-speaking Western Europe has been publishing electronic sheets of advice and good ecological practices entitled "Ecojesuit". At the end of 2021, the team was strengthened with the appointment of Xavier de Bénazé sj as the Provincial's Laudato si' Delegate and the arrival of Gabrielle Pollet, responsible for the ecological transition for the EOF Province.

The initiatives in favour of the ecological transition have been extended: the Ecojesuit sheets continue to develop - the 41st is dedicated to "choosing your ethical bank" -, some of them have been redesigned and enriched with numerous video testimonies from Jesuits and lay people committed to the ecological transition: taking the boat and the train rather than the plane for long journeys (Michel Fédou sj), using the bicycle for daily journeys (Alain Thomasset sj), the "zero waste" policy and composting...

The issues at stake are recalled and followed by concrete actions: one vegetarian day per week in the communities or the setting up of a compost for organic waste. Among the themes addressed: food, energy, transport, waste, water consumption, etc.

Finally, since December 2021, an Ecojesuit newsletter has been sent to the companions of the EOF Province. Each month, it proposes ways to "act, be inspired and understand".

Intended for Jesuit communities, these sheets can inspire all citizens who wish to take care of our common House.
