The leadership teams of the Xavier Network (XN)—the network of Jesuit mission offices and development NGOs across Europe and North America—met in Paris from 29 to 31 October for a period of strategic reflection. This networks, even if it includes some mission offices from outside Europe, is under the Jesuit Conference of European Provincials From the standpoint of JCEP, this gathering represents an important moment for strengthening coordination and shared mission among the European works engaged in international solidarity.

During the meeting, the network appointed Martín Iriberri SJ, Director General of Alboan, as the new Coordinator of the Xavier Network. JCEP expresses its gratitude to Jenny Cafiso, Director of Canadian Jesuits International (CJI), who concluded her mandate and received heartfelt thanks for her valuable contributions to the network’s strategic direction.

The assembly also welcomed a new director: Fr. Theo Van Drunen SJ, representing Claverbond, the Jesuit foundation of the Dutch Province. Together with HUBEJE (the Jesuit Mission Office in Belgium), these organisations jointly form one of the 14 XN members, reinforcing the collaborative presence of Jesuit European provinces within the network.

Another significant moment for the network was the approval of the new Xavier Network logo. The design preserves the characteristic element of St Francis Xavier’s signature while visually reaffirming the network’s rootedness in Ignatian spirituality.

Founded in 2004 and inspired by the missionary spirit of St Francis Xavier, the Xavier Network brings together organisations that collaborate in four key areas: humanitarian emergency response, advocacy, development projects, and international volunteer programmes.
