About 150 people are participating in the online courses of the Spirituality Portal, which is based at the St. Ignatius Spirituality Centre in Salamanca. On this occasion three different courses are being developed: "Ignatian Keys to Life", "Ignatian Tools for Living in the Spirit" and "Spiritual Accompaniment: The Disciple". The first two explain and offer Ignatian instruments and resources for the spiritual life, such as gratitude, discernment, examination, different ways of praying, and guidelines for giving deep meaning to rest. They are directed by Manolo García Bonasa sj and Cristóbal Jiménez sj. The third of the courses, run by Luis Mª García Domínguez sj, is aimed at pastoral workers who want to be initiated into personal spiritual accompaniment in their work with young people.
According to the statistics, 75% of the students are Spanish and the rest are from countries such as Mexico, Perú, the United States or Venezuela. The majority are lay people with an average age between 45 and 54.
The courses have been developed through personal reading, quizzes to assimilate knowledge and participation in an enriching forum with other students and the teacher. In March, the Portal will offer new online courses.
