The a Philosophy Journal Revista Portuguesa de Filosophia (RPF) was recently granted its inclusion in the international database for indexing SCOPUS-Elsevier data. The process of evaluating the journal's application to this platform has thus been successfully completed.

Scopus is the largest international database specialized in scientific publications subject to revision by peers. It gathers data from scientific journals, books and conference proceedings. Published by the Jesuits since 1945, RPF is the first Portuguese publication in the field of Philosophy to be admitted to this platform.

In a note of congratulation for the entry of the RPF into its platform, Scopus' managers highlight the consistency of the scientific work carried out, its international scope, the quality of the articles and the care taken with the scientific review of the texts published by the RPF.

Fr. Álvaro Balsas, sj, assistant director of the RPF, underlines the fact that this recognition results from "a trajectory of around ten years of sustained growth, which was conducted by a policy of demanding scientific rigor, carefully planned by the Journal's Board". This Jesuit also mentions that by placing the RPF in a small group, this inclusion in Scopus makes the current management of the journal responsible for reinforcing the "path of increasing internationalization that the journal has been following, not only for the benefit of the authors who publish it, but also for the readers, national and foreign, who continue to show renewed interest in our publication".

Scopus is one of the projects developed within the scope of Elsevier, an institution that develops its action in the field of science, technology and health, aiming to transform available scientific information into knowledge accessible to a large number of researchers.
