A Conference in Rome between 27 and 29 September promoted by the Gallarate Foundation.
While the emphasis on the link between economy, welfare and happiness is growing, on the other hand there is a growth in "waste" economy - according to the denunciation made by Pope Francis - which is not being effectively combatted by political action, considering the responsibility that politicians carry to govern competently. This has serious consequences on the credibility of democratic structures. These were the themes that were reflected upon at the Gallarate Foundation Conference held in Rome between 27 and 29 September. The speakers at this conference included Prof. Serge Latouche (Université de Paris XI), Gaël Giraud (Université catholique de Louvain), Romano Prodi (University of Bologna), Enrica Chiappero Marinetti (University of Pavia) and Stefano Zamagni (University of Bologna).
