From 30th May to 1st June the Irish Province hosted the Consult of the President of the Conference of European Provincials (CEP). Usually there are four meetings like this per year and they use to go to one of the provinces of the members of the Consult. In this occasion, for the very first time, they went to the place of the President, John Dardis. The welcome was excellent in the Irish Curia, Milltown Park and Loyola communities and the weather was wonderful. The members of this consult are three moderators, elected for two years by the provincials of each of the three assistancies of the CEP (Johan Verschueren (Netherlands and Flanders), José Frazão Correia (Portugal) and Bernhard Bürgler (Austria)), an Assistant to Fr. General, Antoine Kerhuel, two councillors nominated by the President (José Ignacio García (Spain) and Martin Maier (Germany), and the Socius, José de Pablo (Spain).

council DublinAfter the CEP's General Assembly that was in Drongen (Belgium) in the beginning of May there were many themes open for discussion and decision. The council meeting was a perfect moment to summarise the year and to look to the future of the Conference in different areas and responsibilities. The Provincial of Ireland, Tom Layden, was invited to one of the sessions of the consult to speak about the Irish province and the challenges and hopes for the future. Not all was work, they  also enjoy a nice sunny evening walk on Sandymount. The last day, Jim Culliton guided a tour to Dublin city centre. The consulters and John Dardis appreciated very much the warm attention received from the communities in Milltown Park and Loyola and from the members of the Curia.
