The Hospitality campaign set up by the social sector of the Jesuits in Spain launches this year the proposal "Walking for hospitality", with the desire to "walk with people who are forced to leave their homes" as an expression of "the commitment for welcoming them in our society and to working for their full social, labor and educational integration ".
The idea is to walk with migrants and refugees in different cities. A walk to be a meeting place, fraternity, celebration, and our wish to welcome and integrate these people into society.
In June, a group of Syrian refugees residing in different European countries will walk a part of the Ignatian Way in Navarra, the Basque Country and Catalonia, remembering the Dutch Jesuit Frans Van Der Lugt, murdered in Syria. He promoted too walks in favor of peace as a meeting place between different cultures and religions. Some of these refugees walked with Fr. Van der Lugt in Syria.
The campaign invites people and institutions to participate in the "roads of hospitality" initiative, by joining some of the arranged walks in different cities, or by making their own ones.
