This year, academic ministry operating at the parish of St. Andrzej Bobola in Warsaw celebrates its 65th anniversary. As Waldemar Borzyszkowski SJ, the parish priest, remarked, despite the fact that this age is associated with the moment of transition to a well-deserved retirement, the pastoral care is still vibrant and continues to develop into the greater glory of God.

No wonder - young people, students of Warsaw colleges, are so often hosted in its walls, wanting to be formed here in the spirit of Christian faith and values.

Bishop Michał Janocha, who presided over the solemn Holy Mass, recalled the words of Piotr Skarga SJ, written five centuries ago: "This old oak tree has grown so, and no man has overthrown him because his root is Christ." Referring to this quote, he wished the students to find many, many people in the shadow of "this Oak".

After the Mass, there was a solemn dedication of two halls being a meeting place for students belonging to pastoral work. One of them became the patron Saint Stanisław Kostka SJ, patron of the 2018 liturgical year in Poland and patron of young people. The second hall was dedicated to blessed Stefan Wincenty Frelichowski, the patron of Polish scouts and the hero of the Second World War.
