Ready for "a new departure, let yourself be redesigned by the Holy Spirit, only in the eyes of the world the episcopate is a goal": on January 13nd, in the Basilica of St. John Lateran, S. E. Angelo De Donatis, vicar of the Pope for the diocese of Rome, ordained two new auxiliary bishops - Father Daniele Libanori SJ and Father Paolo Ricciardi, roman parish priest. "You are not better, but you are loved; you are not worthy, but you are made fit by the Spirit ", he adds, developing the reflection around three words taken from the liturgy of the Word: temple, witness, disciple. "Be frank with the powerful, keep quiet in front of the humbles ... teach sweetly to those who think they know more ... pray twice what you preach and the time you spend in meetings ... love more who does not obey ... assume your responsibilities ... participate when necessary ... help us to love each other ... trust more in grace than in planning, in everyday life rather than in big events ".

The Gospel "is a noble challenge for which life is worth playing," said Father Libanori, who mentioned his ordination, 40 years ago, in Ferrara, by the laying on of hands of Monsignor Filippo Franceschi, from whom he took the episcopal motto "In lumine fidei". He then recalled the entry into the Society of Jesus, 26 years ago. The new call to the episcopate, he said, "is welcomed in the light and apostolic tension of the Society", on which he counts "with the full trust that one can have in the Lord's friends". From 2003 to 2016, Father Libanori was rector of the Church of the Jesus of Rome, then, appointed on november 23 by the Vicar general of the diocese, auxiliary bishop and rector of San Giuseppe dei Falegnami at the Roman Forum. Father Libanori will continue to deal with the clergy and deacons of Rome.
