The Commission on Formation in Identity and Mission, coordinated by Fr Ángel Arenas SJ, has launched the new formation road map for lay people in the province of Spain. After a few years of transition, a new model has been reached integrating the work of the old provinces.

The new itinerary wants "to foster a progressive process of experiential knowledge on Ignatian pedagogy and spirituality for the greatest possible number of people in the Province”. Also to generate adhesion to the project of Jesus of Nazareth, strengthen the sense of belonging and commitment to faith and justice and enable them to energize experiences in the key of identity and mission in their works.

This new model consists of three phases and each contemplates different modules, meetings or courses. The first is about "Preparing the person"; The 2nd, a more specific formation, focuses on "Sharing the Jesuit Project" and the 3rd is "Formation in Ignatian leadership". The recipients are Jesuit collaborators, but each person perform his own process based on previous experience and formation and their personal and apostolic context. Jesuits also participate.

The methodology helps to deepen and to experience personally, that is why we take care of both the accompaniment of the training process as the quality and quantity of the contents, interiorization and reflection, and the spaces of coexistence and celebration. The different phases include Spiritual Exercises of initiation.

The first module of this first phase of initial training began successfully in late June and July in five locations: Salamanca, Manresa, Loyola, Malaga and El Puerto de Santa María.
