In May, the Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network ("Apostleship of Prayer") extended its online platform "Click To Pray" in German. Click To Pray is the Pope's official prayer app. It invites millions of people around the globe to join the Pope in praying for the challenges of humanity and the mission of the church. In combination with "The Pope Video", Pope Francis chose an instrument to support his prayer network in their daily prayer life. And since every day is different, the app sends new prayers directly on your phone 365 days a year to help you hear God's call in your life.

Fr. Simon Lochbrunner, S. J., has been leading the Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network in the German speaking region since fall 2016. He explains that Click To Pray is a service available for Android or iPhone. All you need to do is to download the app on your smartphone and to register for free. If you don't use a smartphone, you can also use all the features on the Internet via: www.clicktopray.org

Three times a day, users receive a short prayer on their mobile devices. The very compact reflections help users to find God in all things. The templates for these prayers are made by a team of La Machi (Barcelona) in cooperation with Fr. Frédéric Fornos, S. J., (Rome) who is the International Director of the Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network. Simon Lochbrunner is responsible for the German edit.

Also, "Click To Pray" offers you the opportunity for own prayers. You can post personalized prayers at the prayer wall that can be "clicked" (similar to a "Like") by other users. In this regard, Click To Pray is kind of a Facebook for prayer.

The Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network is financed by means of the Society of Jesus. To get the app started, Simon Lochbrunner could win the German Bishops' Conference for an initial funding. For the future, there have to be found other sources to fund the project. The annual costs add up to approximately 12,000 Euro.
