On April 2 and 3, more than 35 communicators from the Educsi network participated in the annual meeting of communications managers from Jesuit schools in the provinces of Spain and Portugal in Madrid , where they addressed the local reality of their centers and shared communication strategies as part of the global Educsi network.
The meeting, which began at Nuestra Señora del Recuerdo School, featured presentations by the Education Delegate, Jaime Badiola SJ; Ángel Benítez-Donoso SJ; and Sergio Gadea SJ, who delved into the importance of communication as a transmitter of identity. How we communicate our Christian identity in schools in a context of tension like that experienced by Saint Ignatius, understanding it not as a problem but as an opportunity, was the focus of the discussion at this meeting .
New challenges to tell what we are
The communicators had moments of reflection, Eucharist, group dynamics, as well as visits to the Casa San Ignacio or the Centro Formativo Padre Piquer, centers with very different realities, and finally they arrived at the house of the Franciscans of the Divine Shepherd, which welcomed them during the second day of the event.
Álvaro García, Educsi Communications Coordinator, explained the current situation of the company's school communications, and Miguel Poza, Educsi Training Manager, brought the communicators closer to the identifiers of the schools in the network .
The meeting concluded with a series of work sessions in which teams shared success stories and expectations regarding communication work in Jesuit schools in the current context. This opened the door to new communication challenges so we could continue to express our identity on websites, social media, and in press releases, reflecting this identity as schools that educate in the faith.
