On Tuesday, December 17, Fr. Herbert Krawczyk SJ, a Polish Jesuit working in Aarhus, a citizen of the Kingdom of Denmark, received from Mrs. Ewa Dębska, Chargé d'affaires ad interim of the Polish Embassy in Denmark, the Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland awarded by the President of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Andrzej Duda. Father Krawczyk was honored for his outstanding services in his activities for the Polish community and the preservation of Polish cultural heritage and sacral architecture in Denmark.

The decoration is awarded for services to Poles living outside the country and for contribution to the service of the Polish diaspora. Among those decorated were also the Bishop of the Copenhagen Diocese, Czeslaw Kozon, and the Rev. Julian Bodnar CSSR.

The award ceremony took place at the Polish Embassy in Copenhagen. The ceremony was attended by Fr. Henryk's confreres from communities in Aarhus (Jutland Peninsula) and Copenhagen.
