Nineteen Jesuits took part in this year's meeting of religious brothers from the European Provinces of the Society of Jesus, which took place in Dobogókő, Hungary, from 16 to 21 July. The brothers, aged 28 to 86, came from Spain, France, Great Britain, Germany, Austria, Italy, Croatia, Hungary and Poland.

They are involved in pastoral and missionary work, in social and educational apostolate, and they work scientifically, serve in retreat houses and deal with the material matters of religious communities. During the meeting, they shared their experience of their vocation in the service of the Church. The subject of the identity of a religious brother in the Society of Jesus was raised, the formation of brothers and the promotion of fraternal vocations were discussed, as well as the problems of spiritual and community life.

Father General Arturo Sosa SJ assured the brothers that their role in the Society of Jesus is essential for it to fulfill its mission by responding to the challenges of the present time.
