A thought-provoking event on Pope Francis’s latest Apostolic Exhortation on climate change, Laudate Deum, took place on 9 December at the headquarters of COMECE in Brussels. Co-organised by COMECE and JESC in the context of the joint work of ELSiA, this hybrid event titled "Pope Francis's New Laudate Deum and the EU's Green Transition" brought together esteemed voices to discuss the challenges of the climate and ecological crisis and the need for a comprehensive approach to address them.

Xavier de Bénazé SJ, eco-delegate of the Jesuit French-Speaking Province, Josianne Gauthier, Secretary General of CIDSE, and Marie Toussaint, member of the European Parliament, engaged in a fruitful dialogue, exploring possible solutions and emphasising the importance of placing the human person at the heart of these efforts. The conference highlighted the need to overcome differences and work together towards a sustainable future, ensuring that no one is left behind in the transition to a greener world
