Annual Barbecue with European Jesuit Collaborators.

On June 23rd, Brussels was filled with the aroma of grilled delicacies and the echoes of laughter, as the collaborators of European Works gathered for their annual barbecue at the Saint Benedict Community. This cherished event not only fostered camaraderie among the European Ignatian Family, but also served as an occasion to bid farewell to three esteemed companions who have dedicated their time and expertise to the Jesuit Conference of European Provincials (JCEP) and its associated endeavours.

The annual barbecue served as a perfect setting for celebration, with almost 50 people in attendance. The gathering was filled with joyous conversations, shared memories and a sense of community. As collaborators from different walks of life came together, new friendships were forged, and existing bonds grew stronger, all in the spirit of unity and shared purpose.

The highlight of the day was the heartfelt farewell to Philip Debruyne, webmaster of JCEP for an impressive sixteen years; Franck Janin, the president of JCEP for six years and Piotr Marmuszewski, who spent his two years of regency serving the Chapel for Europe and teaching religion at the European Schools.

Wishing Franck Janin, Philip Debruyne, and Piotr Marmuszewski success and fulfillment in their future endeavors, and extending our warmest appreciation to all who participated in this joyous occasion.
