From 5 to 13 June 2023, the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius took place in the retreat house "Svitlytsia" in Briukhovychi, near Lviv, Ukraine. As the organisers emphasise, it was the largest Ignatian retreat in Ukrainian history.

The retreat was attended by 38 people at a time, uniting members of various religious congregations, as well as lay people. The retreatants were spiritually accompanied by Fr. Mykhailo Stanczyshyn SJ and guided by a team of experienced assistants during their spiritual conversations.

Fr. Mykhailo SJ does not hide his joy at the event. "This time it was the largest retreat group in the history of Ukraine! How generous and creative our God is for people who seek Him! He always wants more love for His children. A good retreat is always a personal and unforgettable encounter with the living God, who is love and works through the mystique of everyday life. His love is unconditional and boundless. Ignatian retreats are the formation of the apostles and the birthplace of a profound missionary spirit," - the priest shared on his Facebook profile.

Father Mykhailo SJ is a well-known retreat leader in Ukraine, PhD in ecumenical theology, co-founder and teacher of the School of Spiritual Direction "Jelezar", collaborator of the Jesuit Refugee Service in Ukraine, clergyman of many communities, and volunteer.
