I hope this letter finds you all well spiritually and physically, as I too am well, thank God.

My main ministry in Minia is still to look after the Gad-el-Sid Centre, with its many activities: Catechism, after-school evening studies, summer clubs, scouts, mothers and women promotion programs, outings and celebrations and youth meetings etc. I am also in charge of a stretch of desert land property which we hope to use as a spacious open-air area for various spiritual, recreational and educational activities for both young and not so young. And of course I have my share of service in the Jesuit community.

The country is going through a very difficult economic crises: Tourism still won’t pick up, depriving us of much needed foreign reserves, inflation at present is rampant, and millions of ordinary people struggle with the rising cost of living and the lack of some basic alimentary commodities.

Yet we can still proclaim the Good News of Christmas, praying for peace for everyone in the world, and that God may "change our hearts of stone into hearts of flesh", and in the sure hope that the New Year will usher hope for a better tomorrow, God willing, for all the poor everywhere.

Good bye and God Bless, and in union of Prayers
