In the first week of May, a group of art students from Clongowes Wood College SJ descended on the premises of Irish Jesuits International in Gardiner Street, Dublin 2, and painted a Laudato Si’ mural on a garden wall of Irish Jesuits International. Prompted by class discussions on climate action, the students designed the mural, representing Mother Earth and the need for us to care for our common home. They were aided and abetted in this operation by Syrian artist, Manar Al-Shouha, who is seeking asylum in Ireland. When she lived in Damascus, Manar worked as an artist and as a teaching assistant at the university.
