Father General has appointed Father Hermínio Rico as Socius of the President of the Conference of European Provincials (JCEP) and Treasurer of the Conference. Hermínio was born in Coimbra (Portugal); This year he will turn 59 years old and 39 years as a Jesuit. He did his formation in Braga and Boston (USA) and worked for many years in the review Broteria. After working in the General Curia in Rome as the CLC's World Vice-Ecclesiastical Assistant for three years, last year he moved to Lisbon where he has been Chaplain of the Santo Inácio Retreat Centre and Chaplain of the Pedro Arrupe School.
Hermínio Rico will soon move to the Community of St. Benedict in Brussels and will replace José de Pablo, who has held the position of Socius and Treasurer of the JCEP since 2013. José will return to the Province of Spain for a new assignment. The change of Socius will take place whenever possible this summer due to the pandemic situation.
