A space of the Apostolic Community of Valladolid inspired by the Laudato Si'.

The Apostolic Community of Valladolid, with the help of the Province, has opened its doors to a new space of coexistence within INEA, Valladolid (former novitiate). A place of welcome and of meeting inspired by the Laudato Si': simple life, in harmony with the ecological keys landed in the care of the persons and of the Common House. A new concept of community, in solidarity, because it shares daily life with immigrant or refugee families who need support in their process of integration into the city; and open to the richness of diversity: companions and friends, in groups or individually, who need to live a shared experience, a time of formation, of spiritual retreat, of hours of study, of new airs, of volunteering or of a change in their lives. It is a place of transition, inspiration, transformation. And we started it with a married family from Brazil and two children.

This space is called Ecology and Welcoming Ana Leal. Ana was a volunteer for Red Incola, Entreculturas, INEA Foundation and Come Sano Come Justo who witnessed with her young life and her death that it is possible to live in the service of others until the last breath, putting all the love into it. His memory is very present and that is why his name leads this humble project. People and institutions from the Jesuit environment of Valladolid are participating in it, each one contributing what he can. It is a common work in which we are all involved in one way or another. This supportive community, an open and sustainable house, welcomes immigrant families with children and at the same time offers the Ecological Transition School thanks to the availability of 25 double rooms where we welcome and house those who wish to live this experience. Soon, the members of the Social Sector of the Society of Jesus will be staying in these facilities, knowing that in addition to receiving training they will share positive and transforming community life:

In the social area because it is a space of respect for diversity - spiritual, cultural and generational - and for their own spaces. This respect is welcome, silence in rest, care for the places and the things in common and it is collaboration in the tasks of the house in the kitchen, in the dining room, in the cleaning or in the garden.

In the ecological aspect because the "ecological" keys that sustain it are put into practice. Vegetarian food, as much as possible ecological, and from our organic garden. Our soaps, gels and detergents are ecological, as are our cleaning products. Rational use of energy: in winter more warmth and in summer a cool house to not abuse electricity. In this way, the care of the common house is made concrete in the daily life. Things can be done differently. Let's try it.

Economically, because we are open to other lifestyles in order to achieve a sustainable community. That is sustained by its work and its income. The garden provides fresh food in summer and canned food in winter. An austerity that points to other ways of doing things. Those who share it can collaborate with the expenses so that the house is sustainable and continue to welcome people and families without resources.

Intellectually and spiritually because it is more than just a space, it is a school of life and of transition (ecological conversion) towards a more sustainable, more just, more inclusive model. The farm where it is located allows you to enjoy the beauty of nature, practice agro-ecology and express in many ways the gratitude for so much good received: singing, prayer, celebration, cooking, reading, service, walking, contemplation of nature, etc.

We aim at new horizons of coexistence and solidarity, of environmental and personal care; to open spaces where love and service to others occupy a central place. A new mysticism for personal and community life.
